_project name: Ravenna Modern Villa
_location: Emilia Romagna Region, Italy
_brief: A small country home for an artistic couple. The design needed to incorporate spaces for the specific functions that the villa would need to accommodate, such as room for a piano and sculpting studio.
_considerations: The modernist feeling of volumes growing into one another helped to focus on the need for large interior spaces within a small home, requiring spaces that could be adapted to overlap for multiple uses.
_response: Each space was considered with use 1 through 4 being considered in terms of size. The spaces were then morphed into one another to accomplish the complex program within the allowable meters of this small country property. The strict building regulations of this area required us to start with the complete allowable volume and carve the volumes down from that point.
