Our Approach to Sustainable Design & Build

MODERN ZEN ARCHITECTURE is committed to a sustainable design and build ethic.

It is our belief that innovation in design and forward planning can contribute towards the regeneration of the natural environment. It is the way we live that is having such a profound effect on our planet so the need is not only to meet the challenges of sustainable design but to also change the habits of urbanized societies. Through new design consideration we can have a hugely positive impact on community culture and individual lifestyle.

It is possible to develop commercial and private use buildings which promote an eco-efficiency ethic that reduces environmental impact and leads to lower costs in infrastructure, construction and operation.

MODERN ZEN endeavors to ensure that all parties involved in our projects adhere to a strict development code of practice to protect the sustainability of the design and the construction of the building infrastructure.

It is our belief that innovation in design and forward planning can contribute towards the regeneration of the natural environment.

Whenever possible we implement processes which facilitate in assessing the environmental and social performance of the build. As interest in and use of sustainable design and build principles gathers momentum we are all on a road of continuous learning.

Today we are implementing intelligent technologies in some of our buildings such as the Desert Flower eco-towers which incorporate a smart glass system that becomes opaque as it responds to the heat of the day and turns each building spectacularly different colours. Our Eco Tower in Tunisia (pictured right) uses every passive cooling and power generating aid available to give the tower a zero carbon footprint.

We are also in the PRE-CONSTRUCTION phase of a unique eco-friendly villa which we will build in Spain. The villa which will be situated on an exclusive private urbanization will have a zero carbon footprint. We believe it will be the first eco-architect designed house in Southern Spain.
